New supply for the German market
Rua Bioscience is pleased to announce that it has secured a new long-term supply arrangement to support its continued growth in Germany, Europe’s largest and most rapidly evolving medicinal cannabis market.
This new agreement with Australia’s Green Farmers and Apollo Green Australia, both wholly owned subsidiary of Biortica Agrimed, ensures Rua has access to high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade dried flower cultivated exclusively for Rua. It supports the company’s commitment to consistent, reliable supply for German patients, and builds upon the existing relationship with Apollo Green in Canada.
Strengthening supply for Europe’s largest market
Germany remains a cornerstone of Rua’s international growth strategy, with patient demand increasing strongly as the regulatory environment continues to modernise. The newly secured supply arrangement provides Rua with:
A minimum targeted offtake of 1,000 kg per annum, with up to 2,000 kg of annual capacity guaranteed to be made available at Rua’s request.
Exclusive access to A-grade medicinal cannabis flower of unique genetics from Biortica’s genetics business Apollo Green that meets rigorous European quality standards.
A pathway for scale production of unique legacy genetics from Rua’s own facility in Ruatorea.
CEO Paul Naske said the agreement marks another important step in securing Rua’s international supply chain as demand continues to increase across Germany.
“This is a significant milestone in delivering against our export-led growth strategy. Germany is a critical market for Rua, and securing dedicated, high-quality supply allows us to build deeper commercial relationships while sharing our unique products with prescribers and patients,” said Naske.
Delivering on Rua’s strategy
The agreement aligns directly with Rua’s focus on establishing strong, scalable supply lines to support long-term revenue growth in key international markets. It reinforces the company’s capability to deliver new products and maintain momentum following strong sales outcomes in FY25.
By securing contracted, quality-assured supply - inclusive of genetic and cultivation services - Rua is strengthening its foundation for growth and ensuring it can meet increasing demand for a differentiated product portfolio.
Looking ahead
With this additional supply secured to support German market expansion, Rua will continue to focus on widening its product offering and ensuring consistent availability to its key market partners.
The company remains committed to its founding purpose: changing people’s lives, in our community of Tairawhiti by growing an intergenerational medicinal cannabis business rooted in Aotearoa New Zealand.
